 Rating: - I score this 11 out of 10!To repeat some of the other reviews, truly one of the best books I have read period. I had a spiritual break through while reading Sex God in understanding God's love for all people. Also the comparison to the Jewish marriage traditions instantly gave me a revelation into what Jesus already said in His Word. It's an easy read and beautifully laid out. Thank you Rob Bell! Rating: - Let's talk about sexRob Bells second outing as an author explores the endless connections between sexuality and spirituality (from the subtitle). Im not so sure about the design of the book (I liked his simple MAC-like attempt for his first book - Velvet Elvis), but the content is Vintage Bell - just love it. Since I regularly listen to Robs sermons, I was familiar with many of his ideas. Its always interesting to see how the spoken word gets translated (and perhaps altered/refined?) into the written word. Makes me wonder how the oral tradition of the Christian faith became the written word of the Bible. I love Robs humility - he would frequently say that the sermon (or in this case, the book) is the beginning of the conversation. ... He has a way of putting things that makes you wonder why you never saw it that way before. This book only took me 3 hours to read, I laughed and cried. Amazing. Definatly buy 5 and give to your friends!!!! Rating: - fantastichonestly one of the best books i have ever read. a great evangelistic tool. bell speaks truth and connects a generation that is so desperately searching to the source of what will fill every humans deepest need. a great way to connect questions of identity, spirituality and sexuality... brilliant. buy five of these books and give them away. |
