Editorial Review:
From Amazon.com: Even without MySpace, singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat is sure to have found an audience, but her oft-accessed page accelerated the process, mostly on the strength of the effervescent "Bubbly." On her first full-length album, the California native conjures up clear skies and warm breezes. Not that the lyrics revolve around her stomping grounds of Malibu and Ventura County, but her mellow melodies sound like products of those places (co-writer Jason Reeves' ukulele playing reinforces the beach music impression). Instead, Caillat sings about love in all its guises, as on "Capri," a tribute to a mother-to-be. The daughter of audio engineer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac's Rumours), who provides production assistance, Colbie combines acoustic pop, light jazz, and blue-eyed soul on Coco. Despite her young age--22 at the time of its release--the record seems likely to attract an older audience, although her sunny singing manages to sound centered and spirited at the same time. Coco doesn't offer anything startlingly new, but its relaxing vibe is hard to resist. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

I loved it this is a nostalgic, peaceful and fun album. I makes us think and relax and we get into it really easily... Loved it

This myspace star has gone from virtually unheard-of to the top of the charts with her mediocre but pleasant 'Coco'. Californian and coastal in every sense, the album has some real star qualities, but it never seems to move beyond the safety of the box that Caillat seems to be locked in, despite her beautiful voice and conviction-speckled phrasing. One could compare Caillat to a female, Californian Jack Johnson -- some pretty little grooves, smiley vocals and flowery language, but without risk-taking or edgy delivery.
'Coco' certainly has its shining moments. "Baby, if I was your lady, I would make you happy, I'm never gonna leave" she sings on the album's strong opener 'Oxygen', a pretty, emotive love song. The sweet single ... Read More:

I admit that I never heard of Colbie Caillat until last week, when I noticed that her debut album had entered Billboard's Top 200 chart at Number 5. Then I decided to check out this new singer-songwriter from California. I am pleased to report that I came away from the experience suitably impressed! Colbie's music has a laid-back, almost tropical feel that actually sounds a bit Hawaiian at times. Perhaps the reviewer at the allmusic.com web site put it best: "a lighter, brighter spin on Norah Jones that sounds like an ideal soundtrack to a few hours in a cozy coffeehouse..."" And I would expect that we will be hearing "Coco" at Starbucks locations around the world in very short order!

I am always on the lookout for new artists, new sounds. I read Lefsetz Letter (http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/) and found an entry about this new song, Bubbly. GO GET IT! the letter implored. This is a HIT!
I searched it on iTunes and found it to be by a new artist, Colbie Caillat. I listened to it, then listened to the rest of the tracks on her new album, Coco, and immediately clicked the BUY NOW button. Ive found a new treasure. I cannot get enough of the entire album. Its always a bonus when you buy a CD and can listen to the whole thing without skipping through those annoying token ballads, or poppy crap-0 tunes.
Even my husband is smittin with it, and its not just because she has a pretty face! ... Read More:
