. AAA Pocket Edition Road Atlas: 2002 Edition

This is a good book for those whose eyes are tired or who have gotten to that magical age where eye muscles require you to use reading glasses. It has the basic roads through the States, the Canadian provinces, and one map for Mexico. But it does not have each and every road: I checked my home area and found all the highways I would advise out-of-state friends to take to get to my hometown. But the local roads to get to my home were not there. Short of topo maps and county road maps, such roads are usually not shown. Also, the tiny, tiny town names that are hard to see on most maps are easily readable: I found a tiny town that is so small that at one time it had only one town sign -- seriously. . AAA Rome Essential Guide

We have used Essential guides in the past and have found them to be easy to use and containing good information. They are compact and slim and therefore fit easily into your coat pocket. However, I found the Essential Rome book to be a disappointment. I like the top 10 section of the book. But in the Rome book I found myself asking why a couple of the sights where listed in the top 10 and others not. Also, I found the map to be very small and diffucult to read.
