As the adult child of a 93-year-old parent, I can really relate to the concerns raised by the author of this book. My mother is living alone in an apartment and is managing thanks to an invaluable caregiver who comes in to help with cleaning, bathing and laundry. But I worry about her. I live in the same city but I have been wondering if she would be happier and safer in an assisted living facility.
Daniel Baum's book is an invaluable source of information for people like me -- and their parents. He tells how he and his 89-year-old mother decided she would move into an assisted living facility and he then recounts what life there was like for her.
