.Explore Costa Rica by: Harry S. Pariser 2006-12 There's nothing like looking through travel guides in the depth of a Canadian winter. It makes me feel a little warmer. Almost immediately, I start to dream about the places I'd someday like to visit. Costa Rica is now definitely near the top of my list of places to go. This area is about the size of West Virginia with mild subtropical weather year round. As one would expect, there are great beaches with lots of interesting water activities such as snorkeling, diving, whitewater rafting, surfing, wind surfing, swimming, canoeing, and boat tours. .Adventure Guide to Belize by: Harry S. Pariser 1992-02 This excellent guide got us there and back in one piece, with all the travel and cultural information we needed to have a rewarding trip. It is easy to read, adequately covers the region, and includes various budget options. More importantly, it guided us off the beaten track for diving, birdwatching, caving, and jungle-trekking (as well as for a ruins romp). .Explore Costa Rica by: Harry S. Pariser 1999-09 What can I say? I thought this book was above average until I saw one that I liked much better! I was eating at Croce's Restaurant in Old-Towne San Diego, California, when I saw a book displayed: Costa Rica: The Last Country The Gods Made. Apparently, singer Jim Croce's widow had spent a couple of years there working and recuperating after her husband's death, and the authors came into her restaurant one day and they ended up trading books with her (she wrote a cookbook, Thyme in a Bottle)! Well, I looked through The Last Country The Gods Made and ended up buying it on Amazon and it's a FIVE star, compared to Explore Costa Rica.
