. Kept Boy
by: Robert Rodi
February 05, 1997
Overall, I have enjoyed Robert Rodi's novels tremendously. I've read them all except for the Birdcage novelization, and I will continue to read his works. My favorite is probably Closet Case, but they're all good. Of all of them, I enjoyed Kept Boy the least. If you've read any of Rodi's other novels, Kept Boy basically delivers the same type of thing. I think what killed Kept Boy for me is the main character. For the story to succeed, the protagonist needs to be likeable, and Rodi never manages to make this happen - at least in my opinion. As a result, I had to read about someone I didn't care for, and I even had to put up with this person receiving a very undeserved happy ending. Anyway, I don't mean to sound as if I flat-out disliked the ... Read More:

. What They Did To Princess Paragon
by: Robert Rodi
June 19, 1995
OK - It's my turn!! Here I was stuck for a month in some ridiculous backwater business assignment so I took a chance and bought all the Rodi books to keep me company. The GayMuse of Entertainment was watching over me! This guy is literate, amusing, profound, and definitely has the ear of his audience. I could go on and on about all his books: comparing & contrasting & up-thumbing and down-thumbing... but the bottom line is that this man WRITES with a wit and wisdom that is oh! so rare in Gay Fiction today. Now do a little 'search' here at amazon.com on 'rodi' and pluck up anything that pops up. I guarantee you that you will be pleased... if not just a little bit moved!

. Fag Hag
by: Robert Rodi
January 05, 1993
'Fag Hag' is the story of a woman who is in love with her gay best friend, though he doesn't seem likely to change his sexual preferences any time soon. She makes a career out of ruining any relationships he begins, so that she can save him for herself, but when his latest boyfriend seems as though he's going to be in it for the long haul, she goes off the deep end. That is to say, she *would* be going off the deep end, except we've read everything leading up to it and knew after the first page that she was beyond all help. Here is a book in which the only draw is an unlikeable, shallow, mindless and narcissistic main character who has somehow managed to freeze her mental development at the age of twelve and make it as a temporary ...
