.Exploring Australia City Travel Guides > Books > Exploring by: Fodor's February 22, 1994 I found this book very helpful in planning my Oz holiday. It provides useful recommendations on places and things to visit. The plentiful color pictures add much to the book's appeal. While the book is good for planning your vacation, it does not provide detailed information on accommodation, transportation, or other essential information. .Exploring Ireland City Travel Guides > Books > Exploring by: Fodor's February 22, 1994 There are lots of good pictures in this book, including tourist attractions, local people, scenery, events and historic photos. There are many localized maps that show the general area of the sights and events described in the book. There are also good over view maps. Great "focus" sections give detailed information on specific points of interest or significant historic events in Ireland. The Travel Facts section has a comprehensive list of things a traveler might want to know. A seperate accommodation and restraunt section at the end of the book gives recommendations and prices organized by county. .Fodor's Exploring Italy, 4th edition City Travel Guides > Books > Exploring by: Fodor's March 14, 2000 I've used several different brands of travel guides in Europe, the U.S. and Asia and have always found the Fodor's offerings to be comprehensive and useful. That is the reason I'm so disappointed in this book. As a travel guide it is not inexpensive but it does not contain such basic information as lodging options near major train stations, suggestions for low cost lodging away from major tourist haunts, the quirky eating options I've always found in Fodor's other books, or the standard opening times for major sites. For example, Vatican City sites are not listed except in the most superficial way. .Fodor's Exploring Germany, 5th Edition City Travel Guides > Books > Exploring by: Fodor's March 05, 2002 My boyfriend bought an earlier copy of this book when I was going to visit him in Germany. He looked through many different guidebooks, and, as a native, found this one to be the most accurate and visually interesting. I selected places to visit before going and was very pleased and well informed by reading this guide. It is an excellent sourcebook for any traveler to Germany.
