An excellent addition to the Adventure Guide series, packed with detail, from where to stay and eat, to where to shop for local crafts and how to enjoy historic sites. This guide surveys the wildlife and outdoor opportunities of the country, which range from tropical jungle to high plains deserts. Hiking and viewing opportunities blend with cultural insights. Highly recommended. The Midwest Book Review

. Adventure Switzerland, 1st Ed.

by: Kimberly Rinker
March 10, 2004
Nestled in the heart of Europe, Switzerland is a feast for the eyes, with azure-blue lakes that shine brilliantly against the greenest slopes of the surrounding Alps. Its picturesque villages and chic towns are accessible via high-speed trains, which whisk travelers around at amazing speeds, though many opt to travel by longboat on some of the country's tranquil waterways. It is one of the world's most advanced industrialized nations, yet its towns and cities are incredibly clean. It also has the distinction of being one of the oldest democracies. Part-time Swiss resident Kimberly Rinker has lived and worked here for years. She tells of little-known attractions as well as major tourist draws and everything in-between. Color photos.

. Pocket Adventures Guatemala

by: Shelagh McNally
2008-10
Before travelling to a place I like to read a travel guidebook to orientate myself. I bought the book based on the rave reviews of other readers on this page. I usually find Amazon reviews helpful. In this case, I was completely mislead. The book is a complete waste of money. You are much better off getting a copy of the Rough Guide or Lonely Planet to Florida (better information, better written, better editing). I like to occassionally buy guidebooks outside the mainstream press, sometimes it works; in this case it was a utter failure. I can only imagine that some of the reviewers on the page are friends or relatives of the author or the publisher.
