. Streetwise Vancouver Map - Laminated City Street Map of Vancouver, Canada: Folding Pocket Size Travel Map with Integrated Sky Train & Express Line Rou
City Travel Guides > Books > Atlases and Maps
by: Streetwise Maps
2005-02
I love this series of maps. Small and plastic-coated, they tuck into a purse or backpack easily, don't tear or get wrinkled, and they are colorful and attractive. This particular map is very small and yet very easy to read, and gives you everything you need to know about Vancouver, Stanley Park, University of British Columbia campus, downtown Vancouver, the Vancouver area, and even downtown Victoria, which is across the channel on Vancouver Island. Tourist spots are all noted, along with major hotels. It really is the best way to see a city! I get one for every city I go to.

. How to Prepare for the GED, Canadian Edition
City Travel Guides > Books > Atlases and Maps
by: Murray, Ph.D. Rockowitz, Samuel C. Brownstein, Max Peters, Ira Wolf
December 01, 2004
Overall the book really is immensely useful for studying for the GED. But...the typos are annoying. Incorrect answer numbers in the answer key waste a lot of time and cause one to question their sanity after 20 attempts to match the answer number given. The following explanation pages usually,(not always), have the right answer number. But, sometimes the explanation backs up your 'wrong' choice and not the answer given. Sometimes explanations of answers are sooo vague they are frustrating. Sometimes 'facts' contradict themselves in different places; sometimes 'facts' contradict conventional usage. Best to check with other references when it gets confusing. It does keep one thinking, and digging for information, though. Maybe that is the ... Read More:

. Rick Steves' Germany, Austria, and Switzerland Map: Including Berlin, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna City
City Travel Guides > Books > Atlases and Maps
by: Rick Steves
February 05, 2007
I'm both attracted and annoyed by Rick Steves' travel guides. I'm giving this book a 3, not because it's generally okay, but because it's an average of 1 and 5. Steves does some things really well. His maps are really good, for instance. Rather than try to show every street (you'll have an ordinary map for that), he makes it easy to find the places you probably care about (or the ones he thinks you should care about); the museums, train station, etc. are easy to find -- like the map you'd scribble on a cocktail napkin for a friend. Plus, he's reassuring about distances from one place to another (a ten-minute walk to the museum from the train station, etc.). He also does a good-to-excellent job at, hmm, how shall I put this ...
