I was expecting another white-washed, ego tripping, how-wonderful-I-am, autobiography. After all, isn't that what most of them are? I was never an avid fan of Clapton, just liked a couple of songs, sort of. This book, however, changed my opinion. Mr. Clapton was painfully honest, with his use of drugs, with alcohol, with women, especially with his obsession with Patti Boyd. It was a very good read, once he warmed up to the idea of writing about his life. I could have done without the detailed descriptions of guitar stringing and playing. But then, I'm not an obsessed guitarist. The photographs were a wonderful prize for reading the book. Well, just like many reviews before, this is definately not a how to pick girls up book. It does mention other books in there that are also good reading material on the subject. Like Robert Greene's Art of Seduction and Introduction to NLP.

Right from the beginning, I was hooked and could not put it down. The interesting stories and encounters he had along the way, right up to the very end when he finally discovers what he was looking.

And oddly enough, 'The Wizard of Oz' actually made more sense to me, go figure, lol.

In this book, Gladwell does a great job of explaining the tipping points of trends, fads, disease, etc, -basically any event imaginable. If we look close enough in our everyday lives we'll see the tipping point. After reading this book you should be able to see where it is exactly (almost) that mistakes are made, or good decisions are made. Great read -an eye opener for sure! (The idea is what attracts me as opposed to those that rate a book on the writing style, etc, especially for this style of information book.)

This book was the textbook for a Project Management course I recently completed. We covered the project management methodologies, as promoted by the Project Management Institute (PMI). I found the format of this book somewhat difficult to absorb. However, I must admit that the PMI did a good job including many concepts that are important to the profession of project management.
The first three chapters give a good introduction to project management, while chapters 4 through 12 are dedicated to each of the 9 PM knowledge areas. The core of this book is the set of 44 processes, mapped out into the 5 process groups and the 9 knowledge area. Each process has corresponding Inputs, Tools and Techniques, and Outputs. Well, this story we all agree is terrible, a young man who had a single dream, failed to achieve it, and collapsed and found himself in the center of a crime he didn't commit, in a utopia were fairness is the rule it shouldn't happen, certainly the character has suffered a lot, and the book faithfully exposes the legal system in that area to an unprecedented degree, it shows how the truth can and in many times is twisted, it has happened before and keeps happening again and on a wider scale internationally as well!

It is great to have a dream to pursue, but we must face the fact and move on when we can't achieve that dream sometimes, such attitude requires a balanced strong person, a thing our main character clearly lacked.

Presentation Zen is a MUST-READ book for any teacher, presenter, or preacher.

I cannot convey the frustrations Ive had sitting through countless lectures, workshops, or sermons where the presentation slides have been slowly killing my mind and my soul. Thank God for Garr Reynolds, one of the best evangelists for presentation design and delivery. I love his heart for all things design, presentation, and art related.

I devoured this book in a few hours (its quite simple& but not simplistic). Very practical steps on how to prepare, design, deliver, and take the next steps for your development in presentation design and delivery. This book is also (probably) the ONLY book that the foreword was written in SLIDE format (done by Guy Kawasaki).

I checked this book out of library when my first child was a baby. I now use AskDrSears.com website. This book is very comprehensive and a good reference book from attachment parenting perspective. I would also recommend to read about other perspectives.

If you need to go back to work then you may find that some ideas are not practical, but overall it is a good book. It talks a lot about breastfeeding, carrying your baby in a sling and co-sleeping. Sears don't tell you that you are a bad parent if you are not following all the ideas, they tell you to find what is best for your baby AND you. If it offends you or makes you feel guilty to hear a lot about attachment parenting, then this book may not be for you.
