.Fielding's Caribbean City Travel Guides > Books > Fielding by: David Swanson, Joyce Wiswell 1996-09 Fielding's Caribbean" is an great guide to 31 island nations - I have found no other handbook that clearly and concisely lays out the important information that a traveler needs as well as Fielding's does. The ratings are accurate, and most of the better properties and restaurants on each island are included. While this guide is highly recommended, it has a few shortcomings that need to be mentioned. Most notable is that Fielding's does not think of Cuba as part of the Caribbean, and there is no coverage of this country at all. Second, the lack of web sites or e-mail addresses ...today, most hotels have e-mail and web sites, which make booking a reservation easy and cheap. Despite these omissions, ... .Fielding's Birding Indonesia: Fielding's In-Depth Guide to Birding on the World's Largest Archipelago City Travel Guides > Books > Fielding by: Paul Jepson September 30, 1997 This book is an excellent guide to the varied nature reserves and many other sites of Indonesia not just to birders, but in fact to all travellers interested in wildlife. The coverage of national parks and remote islands/forests is better than could be found in any other guidebook, and the wealth of detial on transport and accomodation options is impressive. Unfortunately some of the information in this guide is now dated though - in many areas forests have been cut down, birds eliminated, accomodation closed since the book was written - and of course prices have gone up. An updated 2nd edition would be very welcome, but I guess there is little chance of that happening... In the meantime, try to get hold of a copy of this book if ...
