.Fodor's Switzerland 2001: Completely Updated Every Year, Smart Travel Tips from A to Z, Pull-Out Color Map City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's November 14, 2000 Although this book does not provide specific prices for restaurants and hotels (like the Frommer's guides do), it still provides a good overview of the different regions of Switzerland. It does not cover a great many of the hotels available in some towns (for one town, I easily found 15 hotels on-line, but the book only covered 2). Also, it tends to suggest the highest priced restaurants & hotels -- not good for someone on a budget. Overall, however, the book has helped me plan what I hope is a great itinerary for our trip this summmer. .Fodor's Maui and Lanai 99: The Complete Guide with Spectacular Drives, Beaches, and Adventures Off the Beat en Path City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's October 27, 1998 We took our family and went to Maui. Armed with 3 guide books, I was able to compare the content and accuracy of them while on the island. I found Frommer's book to be a little outdated. More to the point, I found it to be lacking a lot of information that the other two books had. I do not recommend that anyone purchase this book. .Fodor's California 2000: Expert Advice and Smart Choices, Updated Annually, with a Full-Size Map and Colo r Planning Section City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's November 02, 1999 I found Fodor's 2000 California to be an excellent resource for any travel planning. All attractions, parks, lodgings, restaurants, etc. were described thoroughly enough to provide enough information to make my planning easy. The sample tours are also very helpful. .Paris '99: The Complete Guide With Cafes and Bistros, Museums, Great Walks and Day Trips City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's September 01, 1998 I was at a rummage sale last year and noticed someone was selling a bunch of guide books. I saw Fodor's Paris 99 and could not believe they were practically giving it away. I could not stop looking at it when I came home. It is such a complete book on Paris. The beginning covers all your basic info on how to get there and what to take. The rest is filled with good maps. It considers people of all budgets with it's hotel and restaurant listings going from low to expensive. It even has some helpful phrases in the back. .London '99: The Complete Guide with Great Walking Tours, the Best Dining, Shopping and Count ry Day Trips City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's September 01, 1998 The book is brilliant and as someone who lives in London I want to say that it is good to have whether you are a traveller or whether you need ideas on where to take visitors that are staying with you! Included in the book I bought was a map of London and my only criticism is that the tube map is completely wrong and it would confuse anyone unfamiliar with the underground in London. Ignore the map and follow the ones on the station platforms and you will be fine! Yes, "Cuba Handbook," is more comprehensive, and I read all 600+ pages of that lengthy tome. But I found that Fodor's had all of the essential information, skipping only the trivial. Included are great tips about U.S. and Cuban Customs regulations, roads in Cuba and accurate and believable lodging information. I did everything in Cuba and can attest that all of the best things to do are included in this guide. Fodor's even gives you a rave about Remedios and its nearby beaches, which are far away from ...
