This set of books is an incredible achievement. Despite the weight of the three books, I bring them with me when I fly down south on vacation and spend hours looking up what I've just spent the day looking at underwater. Photos, descriptions, everything is so well presented. The price is also extremely reasonable. I can't recommend this series enough!

This set of books is an incredible achievement. If you have a sense of humour you will enjoy this book no matter what country you are from. Bryson takes a look at the simple things in life such as basements and post offices and makes you think twice about them in a different way, usually a more humourous way. If you enjoy comedy or his other books, then read this one, you might even learn something, like what not to put in the garbage disposal.

Being avid WDW fans, visting there every 3 months from Ohio, my family will find this just-published book fun to take with us when we visit, and also at home. It will be of value to newcomers and also seasoned Disney fanatics like my family. In its 224 pages there's something of interest to every member of the family, young and mature. The multiple choice questions make it a fast, easy read, and make it easy to retain the answers. We're glad to add it to our large Disney book collection. Recommended.

Just enough and done up in Lonely Planets refreshing format. I always like the first section with all the necessary traveling details. Hawaii has so much to see and with Lonely Planet Hawaii I got a good idea of where I wanted to go the first, second and third weeks of my vacation. Nicely done LP!

I recently visited NYC for the first time. I took only three books about that city with me: this guide, the "Top 10 New York" guide, and "The Metropolitan Museum of Art Guide". I must say that the "Lonely planet NYC Guide" was not my favourite, though.

Truth to be told, this guide has a lot of useful information, and that proved helpful in some cases. What is more, it has some interesting planned walking tours that I liked, and good sections with data about the city and its history.

On the other hand, this guide doesn't have too many photos in color, and it includes some maps that are not specially good, particularly if you compare them with the spectacular maps of the "Top 10 New York" guide. Furthermore, it is big enough ... Read More:

I recently bought the library binding so that I could loan this book to my friends and students and not worry about it falling apart from use. However, I'm more than slightly disappointed with the quality. The library binding is nothing more than the mass market paperback in a hard cover. The paper is thin, dark, and of the poorest quality; the binding is of questionable stability and I doubt it will last as long as I had expected, and the overall feel and look of the book are poor.
