This movie was great - one of my top five fave's! It's just goofy and far-fetched enough to be addictive, it's got GREAT actors, an interesting plot, and a fantastic soundtrack. I've probably seen the film about 100 times, and it never gets dull. And enjoy the film!

Machine Girl is one of those movie you have to watch with other. Sure there is some drama but most of the time it's funny, even ridiculous.
You have to see it to believe it!
The movie is not a masterpiece but it's a great way to spend a good time with friends.
Girl with a machine gun for an arm, I'll let you guess what comes next!

I haven't finished Volume 1 of Young Indiana Jones and now I realize it might be some time before I do. I give it three stars because I think it's still got merit despite poor choices made by Lucas to re-edit the whole thing and include copious documentaries whether you want them or not. In the age of lean-thinking, this is not lean. And if Lucas intends to move into TV, he'd better learn from his mistakes or... well, we'll just have to buy less of his poop!

If you go to Amazon.com and read reviews, you'll find a lot of people complaining about bad editing, particularly the bridging of two or so epiodes into single 'movie' episodes. Just received the set and, much to my chagrin, noticed it didn't include many special features or commentary of any sort. If I had known I would have purchased the other set, but now I'm stuck with what I've got. Make sure you know what you're getting!

You know, I saw this many years ago and thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Now, all these years later, I was quite eager to take it in again. Unfortunately, it just didn't hold up for me. I was actually shocked at how bad it was. I kept trying to see it through eyes of those decades ago, before we had comedy types like Robin Williams, Chris Rock, etc. but I just couldn't get past the absurdity of it. Yes, I get all the styles and references, a la "Yellow Submarine," and such with the paste-ups and pastiche humor, but I didn't find myself laughing. I'm sure this stuff paved the way for what we have today but I didn't laugh once when reviewing it again, and I think---correct me if I'm wrong---but that's the whole point.

This is a true story and it is a very sad one in the history of the west and of the church.
Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Liam Neeson and many more take us through the history of slavers in South America. Irons, who plays a Spanish Jesuit Priest, goes into the wilderness to build a mission, to convert the Indians. DeNiro plays a slaver who eventually joins Irons mission and serves the native peoples.

The main question in this film is that of ownership, and the right to make slaves. The mission begins in Spanish territory that is sold to the Portuguese.
