Criminal Minds does an excellent job of challenging, and changing your thinking process, as well as keeping you on the edge of your seat. When Criminal Minds came out 3 years ago, it was something fresh and new, as oppose to the usual Law & Order or CSI stories. Criminal Minds focuses more on the psychological aspect of the criminal, but on the crimes committed as well. You see the character grows and go through life changes in this series. In season 2 we seen Ella (show Character name) leave (after a questionable shooting, and this season we will see someone else leave (which I am not going to mention use, just incase someone has not seen from this series). ROAD HOUSE sets a dark mood with plenty of night scenes. I'm usually turned away from a film having too many night scenes. Half the time you can't tell who's who and what's they doing. Nothing unclear in ROAD HOUSE. Director, Jean Negulesco, deserves a gold star for handling the lighting in those scenes. I give another gold star to Celeste Holm, the girl that you want for a "friend." The plot gets down to the simply fact of the mating season. I was a little concerned that Widmark's evil propensity wasn't foreshadowed during the earlier stages of the film, but it was acceptable to believe that he just flipped his cork. The best part of the movie was perky Ida Lupino's torch song singing effort beginning with "Set 'em up Joe," ... Read More:

Good news: this title is being rereleased in September 2008! A truly apt title indeed.

We'll finally be be able to fill that annoying hole in the Fox Film Noir series on our shelves.

As I recall this is a very good title, in the upper-tier of films noirs, but not quite into the top-tier (like Woman in the Window, Double Indemnity or Night and the City). It's been quite some time since I saw it (on TvO Saturday Night I seem to dimly recall or perhaps PBS), but my usually reliable memory indicates this should be a most enjoyable re-viewing.

The last crop of Fox Film Noir was not the most substantial of the series (Black Widow is somewhat entertaining a times, but not really noir and rather slight). The 3 ... Read More:
