This is one of their best CD's out of their entire catalog. This one has a great mix of Rockers and Slower songs. Derry's guitar playing is excellent as always and Johnnie's vocals are fabulous. You will not be disappointed in this one. I think that the price is a bargain and I have been listening to it ever since it came and have been loving it.

. Singable Songs For The Very Young
City Travel Guides > Music > Canadian Music
by: Raffi
June 15, 1991
Singable Songs for the Very Young was originally released in 1976. I was born two years after that, and this album (cassette tape actually) was a staple in my family. I can remember my younger sisters and I belting out "Must be Santa" or "Mr Sun." in the back of the car on long trips.
We also had the record for "Corner Grocery Store" and I can clearly remember dancing around the living room and singing along with my sisters to the silly songs on that album.
Wanting to share these songs with my own children, I got Singable Songs for my two year old son. As it turns out, he loves the songs too and we have a lot of fun together singing and dancing. His favourite song is "Bumping Up and Down in my Little Red Wagon."

this cd's on a lot at work, and i have to say that it isn't that bad to listen to. if left to my own devices, i would probably only listen to one or two songs of my own volition, but the cd in itself has a nice easy flow to it. some songs can be rather melancholy if you're in the appropriate mood, but on the whole i'd say it's a light-hearted, easy-going album. at the very least worth a listening to, even in passing.

There's no denying that Kathryn Dawn Lang is one of this country's most unique artists. From her early days fronting a Patsy Cline tribute band, to making a big splash into the music biz pool in 1984 with her cowboy boots, old time granny specs, cowboy shirt and hoop skirt. Well-deserved critical acclaim and commercial success soon followed as she continued to set a higher standard with each album released. Her duet with Roy Orbison on "Crying" was magical and her 1982 hit "Constant Craving" was as near to musical perfection as a song could ever be. The cowgirl from Consort, Alberta eventually was awarded the Order Of Canada in 1996. She continued to tour, released a duets album with Tony Bennett, as well as an all covers album, a pseudo-greatest hits album and a ... Read More:

As soon as I heard "Them Kids" on the radio, I knew that this album was gonna be great.. and when I bought it, I was not disappointed at all! I've been a huge Sam Roberts fan from the start, and this album is just AMAZING. I loved their previous 2 albums, and love this one just as much. It's been playing in heavy rotation, and I can listen to whole CD without skippin a track. I love the whole old school / modern sound the album has.
MY RATINGS:
-------------
01. Love At The End Of The World [4.5/5]
02. Stripmall Religion [5/5]
03. Oh Maria [5/5[
04. Lions Of The Kalahari [4/5]
05. Fixed To Ruin [4/5]
06. Them Kids [5/5]
07. Words & Fire [4/5]
08. Sundance [5/5]

. The Baroness
City Travel Guides > Music > Canadian Music
by: Sarah Slean
March 11, 2008
... after a couple of years of waiting! Yes, "Orphan Music" was great, but the new material we fans desperately longed for, here it is at last! Now, Slean does not rush things, and we love her all the more for that: every song is a delicacy, every melody a soothing, every word a shard from the poet's heart.
It is pure Sarah Slean: what you loved in the previous albums you shall find here as well, although one might feel that "The Baroness" is indeed endowed with more maturity than her past efforts. Could it be love's omnipresence (or absence of it...) that made her turn her lyrical subjects and musical ears toward a more somber, solemn, simple source of inspiration?
Anyway, whatever else I might add about "The Baroness", buy it and see and hear ... Read More:
