This is a party in a box, brash, exuberant, tender, brooding, with ragged guitars, visceral percussion, cool lyrics and piercing vocals which assume every posture in the manual of rock. I loved this cd. I love the Raconteurs.

Singable Songs for the Very Young was originally released in 1976. I was born two years after that, and this album (cassette tape actually) was a staple in my family. I can remember my younger sisters and I belting out "Must be Santa" or "Mr Sun." in the back of the car on long trips.

We also had the record for "Corner Grocery Store" and I can clearly remember dancing around the living room and singing along with my sisters to the silly songs on that album.

Wanting to share these songs with my own children, I got Singable Songs for my two year old son. As it turns out, he loves the songs too and we have a lot of fun together singing and dancing. His favourite song is "Bumping Up and Down in my Little Red Wagon."

Jack Johnson's at it again with his fifth album, Sleep Through the Static. For any Jack Johnson fan this is a must have as Jack continues to come through with laid-back, feel-good songs. I would say, however, for anyone looking for their first Jack Johnson CD, that this is not the one to start off with. While it is a good album, some of his earlier albums, namely In Between Dreams and Curious George are better in my opinion.

There's no denying that Kathryn Dawn Lang is one of this country's most unique artists. From her early days fronting a Patsy Cline tribute band, to making a big splash into the music biz pool in 1984 with her cowboy boots, old time granny specs, cowboy shirt and hoop skirt. Well-deserved critical acclaim and commercial success soon followed as she continued to set a higher standard with each album released. Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is a rare thing in today's music. It is an album that people will remember, 20, 50, 100 years from now as a classic album. 'Rush of Blood' has it all; catchy choruses, beautiful lyrics, awesome guitar, sad songs, happy love songs, a mix of folk, rock, new age and even punk. It can please just about any music fan with its ecclectic nature. Chris Martin has a soulful, gorgeous falsetto and when he rocks out and lets loose, there is nothing like it. I would recommend 'Rush of Blood' to anyone and everyone. It's sheer genius.

I bought this album the day that it came out, and to this day, almost a year later, I'm listening to it constantly! Carrie is riding high on the top of the charts, winning every award in sight, and there's no stopping her! She's a force to be reckoned with and country music should be proud to call her one of their own. A recent inductee into the Grand Ole Opry, Carrie deserves everything that she has achieved thus far, and I wish her all the best in the future!! This album is amazing! Each and every song holds its own, from the first track "Flat on the Floor" all the way down to the song which includes the album title in the lyrics, "Wheel of the World". If you are a fan of country music, or just of good music in general, go out and buy this album!!

Despite all the negative media attention Amy Winehouse has, she is a relevant and important voice in music. She has got talent to spare and her debut is in many ways even better than her sophomore album Back to Black. I love both albums, but there is something about Frank that has me hitting the play button more often than with her follow-up.
