. Massage for Health
City Travel Guides > VHS >
starring: Shari Belafonte-Harper
July 25, 2000
My fiancè and I recieved this video as a Christmas Present. It has proven to be useful for learning the basic strokes. After learning only the first portion of the video, he successfully rid me of a sore shoulder in 10 minutes versus his usual half-hour.(not too mention that I would still be sore) While the video is very dry, it is great for naming and showing basic steps. Once we conquer this, on to more advanced techniques!!!

. The Little Engine That Could
City Travel Guides > VHS >
March 24, 1993
My son saw this film some time ago when he was about ten and didn't like it at all. He's a big Thomas fan and was probably expecting something more realistic. Anyway I had to listen to him rant and rave about all the things wrong with the movie. Also it deviates quite a bit from the original story and has a part at the end that some children might find really scary when the train enters a tunnel that looks like a monster.

. Big Night
City Travel Guides > VHS >
starring: Stanley Tucci, Campbell Scott, Marc Anthony, Tony Shalhoub, Larry Blockdirected by: Stanley Tucci, Campbell Scott
September 30, 1997
Stanley Tucci, as actor, co-writer, and co-director (with Campbell Scott, who also plays a pitch-perfect small part as a car salesman), deserves a great deal of the credit for this small, intimate, delightful film. But the film resonates because it got so many of the little touches right, from the ensemble cast to the soundtrack to the editing to the cinematography. So there is a lot of credit to go around. Tucci plays Secondo, the aptly named younger of two Italian brothers who have emigrated to New Jersey from the Old Country. Secondo is the entrepreneur, the guy who wants the big Cadillac. Primo (Tony Shahloub), the older brother, is the magician of a chef. Primo is so good, in fact, that his culinary masterpieces go over the heads of the good folks of ... Read More:

. Sword in the Stone

starring: Rickie Sorensen, Karl Swenson, Norman Alden, Sebastian Cabot, Martha Wentworthdirected by: Wolfgang Reitherman

As other reviewers have duly noted, this film (first released in 1963) is based on the first of four parts of T.H. White's The Once and Future King (1958), focusing on Arthur's birth, childhood, and youth before he became king of England. The film has been reissued as a 45th anniversary edition. It features the well-selected voices of Sebastian Cabot (Sir Ector/Narrator), Karl Swenson (Merlin), Rickie Sorensen (Arthur/"Wart"), Junius Matthews (Archimedes), and Alan Napier (Sir Pelinore). Frankly, I was underwhelmed when I first saw it many years ago and had little patience with the antics. While seeing it again recently, I found the film much more entertaining and frequently charming.
In our family, a film's "acid test" for grandchildren is for them to want to see ... Read More:

. Pee-Wees Big Adventure
City Travel Guides > VHS >
from: Warner

It is really such a shame about what happened to actor Paul Reubens and his alter-ego Pee-wee Herman. This is an absolutely delightful, one-of-a-kind classic comedy. The follow-up film, Big Top Pee Wee, while it has it's moments, can't possibly even begin to compare. As one film critic said of this film at the time it was released, just leave your sanity at the door and enjoy it!!

. Ewoks: The Battle for Endor

I've been a fan of Star Wars since before I was born(No, really. My mother took my brother and sister to see it in the theater in summer of '77 when she was pregnant with me, and I swear it was subliminally driven into my psyche as a fetus!), and I loved the ewok movies. I have both VHS releases and am anxiously waiting for Mr. George "Emperor Of All Things Star Wars" Lucas to get off his @$$ and release these under-rated and underappreciated film gems on the ultimate home entertainment format, DVD!
