. Second Sight
City Travel Guides > VHS > Comedy
starring: John Larroquette, Bronson Pinchot, Bess Armstrong, Stuart Pankin, John Schuckdirected by: Joel Zwick
January 30, 1991
The basic story is of the rivalry of a private physic detective agency verses the police chief. An important person is abducted and it is up to the psychic to locate the perpetrator(s). The psychic must be feed Goobers regularly to maintain his stability. And somebody is getting lottery tips on the side. There is no redeeming social value in this one. Forget looking for any deep meaning or great acting. This movie is just down right silly and contains just about every cliché in the physic detective book. Watch for fun and say "Stay in the car!!" or "Don't do that!!"

There is one scene which particularly suffers from the pan and scan - the musical number in which the three pals sing and dance on a tri-split screen (each thinking the same thing about the others - `Once Upon A Time I Had Two Friends...' is the song). Compositions are great all around, though. Jazzy, upbeat musical numbers and some of the greatest dance steps Gene Kelly ever pulled off (the stellar one on the roller skates `I Like Myself' ...
