.Donna Summer Endless Summer City Travel Guides > VHS > Surfing from: Mca (Universal) February 28, 1995 This is a nice little collection of Donna's videos but its not much more than that. The tape only includes videos from as far back as 1980 and the concert footage was lifted from the 'Hot Summer nights' video and to be honest I dont think that footage shows Donna at her best (I guess she must have been a bit exhausted from performing). For this to be a great collection of Donna's work it should have featured some of her early rare promos and concert footage from the 70's when songs like 'Mcarthur Park' and 'Last Dance' were new hits instead of Donna just going back over her classic catalogue. But all that said I still enjoyed seeing all the videos that were on show, most of them I had never seen before and it was great to see the new 'Melody ... .Blue Crush: the Original - Vhs City Travel Guides > VHS > Surfing from: Ventura Distribution Inc. March 25, 2003 This is another selection I was able to borrow from the library. It was on the shelf, and I was curious. Okay granted the movie is not academy award winning, but there were some pretty decent scenes. Anne Marie is a competitive surf boarder who is trying to get over a near drowning. She is trying to move forward, but this near drowning keeps holding her back. In addition to that she is trying to make ends meet working in hotel and is taking care of her younger sister. The of course is not without it's club scene, and some drinking is involved, but it's not overboard. It fits the story line. There is also a nice little love story. .Liquid Stage: The Lure of Surfing City Travel Guides > VHS > Surfing starring: Steve Pezman, Rell Sunn, Titus Kinimaka, Woody Brown (II), Mickey Munoz directed by: Michael Bovee This review gets 4 stars for the surfing enthusiast. A documentary about the history and birth of surfing. Focusing much of the film on the older days of surfing & the evolution of the surfboard. Does include some contemporary surfing but not enough for 5 stars. I found that the history told in this film is enlightening. Only a surfer or surfing enthusiast would give this film 4 stars otherwise the rating is about 2 or 3 stars.
