The Standard Building Contract (SBC) no longer has nominated sub-contractors and suppliers nor does it have performance specified work. Instead, the contractor's designed portion supplement has been incorporated. The contractor's priced document has disappeared from all the contracts. Virtually all the clauses have been reworded although in most cases the original sense is retained. There are major changes in the extension of time and loss and/or expense clauses, and third party rights and warranty clauses have been introduced. The book is also updated in line with recent case law. David Chappell avoids legal jargon but writes with authority and precision.
