 Rating: - Keep the tissues HandyNot since reading Lilly my Lovely (LENA KENNEDY) have i cried so much reading a book You feel Eileens total dispair at the end of the book yes the ending is a cliffhanger and you will need to buy the other books, i would put these books in the same league as Lillian Harrys "April Grove" books and if you enjoy them you are sure to enjoy these, i have to say i am now a true fan of Maureen Lee and can't wait to read more of her books. Rating:  - Enjoyable , abrupt endingI really enjoyed this book and came to care about the characters ,but I was disappointed by the ending which left the reader not knowing what happened . I was surprised when the book suddenly ended . I suppose I'll have to buy the sequel now ! Rating: - I t was very moving,and I cared about the characters.I have read many WW2 novels, and this one was very good. I gained a different perspective learning about what the citizen in Bootle, Liverpoole went through during the war. The book was fantastic. I cried at the sad happenings and laughed along with all the characters on a good day. This is the best book I have ever read. I actually felt that i was a part of the happenings. Fantastic. |
