I didn't find this book entertaining. The first 100 pages were boring and I only perservered because i was interested in the gangster characters ie the Krays etc featuring. I thought the style was peculiarly old fashioned and the characters just didn't gel for me. The likes of prostitutes, gangsters, boxers, paedaohiles and, market holders did not sit well with the plot. Sorry but i was deeply unimpressed.
I would not recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a well constructed thriller such s written by James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, etc, its simply not in the same league.
The only pleasing thing is that I swapped the book for another i had read at Hotel whilst on holiday ! so happy not to have forked out any money for it

I thought that this book was just OK and nothing else. I could put it down and I wasnt desperately trying to find 5 minutes to pick it back up again.
Not having read the first book, it was a little bit difficult for me grasp who was who and what had happened previously. I think the author assumes that you have read the previous book.
I also found the book a bit rushed. There is no real description of the characters and I found that I didnt really care too much for them.
I see the ending coming from about a third of the way through the book, and I really dont think that it was a good one, a bit of a let down and a cop out.
To try and put it into perspective, I am huge Martina Cole fan, although ... Read More:

After reading the first one from June Hampson i felt as though i'd know Daisy Lane all my life (almost like she was a best friend...!) This one is my opinion was better than the first and again i could not wait to finish so that i could read the follow up!
A real must read

Having read a few of Martina Coles' novels I was looking for other authors in the same vein.
June Hampson is even better than Martina Cole - her novels grip you from the first page and the pace doesnt let up.
It took me a couple of days to read Trust Nobody and only a day to read Broken Bodies - it is hard to say which was my fav.I am now waiting for Amazon to deliver Damaged Goods.
Excellent stuff!!

I started to read this straight after Trust Nobody as I couldnt wait to find out what happened to Daisy and Vera. Loved this book and found myself yet again disappointed when I finished reading it. Have Damaged Goods yet to read but looking forward to starting it.
