Editorial Review:
The Sunday Telegraph: "A great little idea"
The Guardian: "a novel solution... for communicating with folk from other lands"
The Independent on Sunday: "ditch cumbersome dictionaries and phrase books"
Woman: "We love them"
Book Description: What makes "ingenious" Pigeon cards unique is the way you use them. Instead of looking up complete phrases, you tailor-make your own. A typical sentence can be made up from just a few elements eg: "Can I have... coffee... with milk?" Begin with "hello" and end with "please" and you’ve placed your order before your companion has found the right page in their phrase book. With only three Pigeon cards you can give a friendly chirp and... order drinks, make sense of a menu, get a room and find your way around the shops
Synopsis: The quick and simple way of communicating in a foreign language on the move. Phrasebooks can be bulky, difficult and slow to use, with a phonetic system that is rarely understood. What makes these cards unique is the way you use them. Instead of looking up complete phrases, you tailor-make your own using the words on the cards. Pigeon cards are discreet and they look like postcards. Three tough 110x165mm laminated cards with a wraparound cover. They come as a single strip, perforated and consortia folded into a resealable polypropylene bag.

Its not really a book. You get three post cards, the first one has friendly noises, so yes, no please and thank you, as well as useful words, such as "toilet," that one was so useful this book nearly got 5 stars.
The second postcard is "out and about" and has lots of useful words that when added to those on card one, you can make short simple sentences and be understood. All the Spanish words are writen as they would be pronounced in English making it easy to be brave and speak out.
The third post card is a menu card. It has a list of things that you will see on a menu and its English translation. As a vegetarian I found this one useful as the last thing I needed was a plate of somthing that I won't eat.
