 Rating: - Another excellent re-issueThis hardback reissue is of the same high standard as the New York Review's previous reprint of Uncle - it's a facsimile of the original first edition, as far as I can tell, and really does full justice to Quentin Blake's illustrations. It goes without saying that I'm a huge fan of this magical series of books about Uncle, the millionaire elephant and his slightly surreal castle of Homeward, and his constant battles with Beaver Hateman and the rest of his nefarious gang at Badfort. Now, thanks to these reissues, my daughter is enjoying them too. For those unfamiliar with the series, the first two books have had a couple of reissues (in paperback) before, but these New York Review versions are far superior. However, ... Read More: |
