Before writing this review I had a read through some of the others that had been written. I was most interested by the one star reviews, irritation at the inclusion of the authors memories, and the categorisation of the recipes by colour. The organisation of the recipes by colour, I feel, is quite a nice novel touch - certainly pleasing on the eye. As for the inclusion of the authors memories? I thing this is one of the nicest things about the book. Tessa Kiros has an evocative way of writing and I can lose myself in her words (or they draw up my memories). Everything is interspersed with gorgeous photos.
As for the recipes - there is a lovely range. Some fairly simplistic admittedly, but plenty to inspire any cook. Tessa ... Read More:

As with her previous two books, Tessa Kiros has captured both my imagination and my taste for cooking. Apart from offering an extensive collection of original and uncomplicated recipes, this is also an enjoyable read, exuding family cosiness and joy of life. I can't wait for Tessa Kiros'next book!!

If you want a "just the facts, ma'am" type of cookbook this is not for you. However, beyond the good range of simple but inspiring recipes, it was the stories and pictures that are mixed in that really made this book for me. (NB: I didn't mind the colour-coding of the recipes as there is an alphabetical index in the back)
I will definitely be adding more of Tessa Kiros in my cookbook collection.

This really is a lovely book filled with useable, inspiring recipes. It is one of those cook books that is interesting and attractive enough for browsing through with a nice pot of coffee as well as for selecting recipies for family meals that really work! Straightforward, short ingredient lists and easy to follow instructions - I have tried 20 or so recipes and they have all turned out a success! We have discovered some new supper dishes that have become firm favourites.
My only complaint is the light grey font colour - which also seems quite small - I don't usually need my specs for cooking! Maybe I should eat more carrots . . . . see the orange section!

I had such high hopes for this book, but I find it so irritating I just can't read through it! I HATE the way the recipes are grouped by colour and I find the stories of the author's childhood memories that are peppered through the book hugely irritating! Aghh!!
