 Rating: - Superb map that really is super-durable!We loved this map - the detail is excellent. Whether you're exploring Lanzarote in a hire car, on foot or by bike it's incredibly useful - and we loved the fact that it refused to fall apart, no matter how badly we treated it! All we took with us to plan our trip was this and the Rough Guide (Lanzarote Directions by Emma Gregg) - which is brilliant too - and we had a great time, with lots of off-the-beaten-track adventures! Rating: - The best map of Lanzarote ......I've just got back from a week in Lanzarote having taken a variety of maps and guides that were begged, borrowed or ....in this case, purchased. It was very quickly apparent that this 1:40,000 scale map was by far the most useful guide to planning and getting about the island. It's accuracy was spot on but the crucial difference was in how the map makers have portrayed the topography of the island. The choice of colours used meant that you could appreciate the ups and downs of the island including all those former volcanic peaks that are such a feature. A look at this map really made the island "come alive". I worked out several scenic routes and panoramas on journeys to "attractions" that I think we would have missed using other maps and guides. ... Much more detailed than any of the maps you are likely to find in Lanzarote. If you are interested in walking, then I'd recommend the companion book 'Walk Lanzarote' which describes in detail the 32 marked walks shown on the map. Rating: - a big map full of detailThis is one big map, double sided at 40,000 scale the biggest you can get for Lanzarote. Everything we tried was correct even down to the walking routes and the road numbers were really handy when driving. After a fortnights tough use in the car and out on trails, including the Fanara cliffs and being covered in sea spray the map folds up like new ready for another visit; you can forget those flimsy little maps given away with your hire car. £7.99 might sound a lot for a map when there are so many free ones on the island but as soon as you start using it, and seeing the lost cheapskates with their free maps, you will soon appreciate that this map is a bargain. |
