 Rating: - Detailed and in depth, but lacks sufficient practical informationIf you want to get more than the essential facts about a country, this would be a good guide to go for. It's well laid out, with lots of colour pictures and interesting, well written articles about the history and culture of Peru. The sections on places are also well written though a lot of sights are missed out. The practical information is more scarce and that, combined with the hefty size, do not make it the most practical 'on-the-spot' guidebook. If you want to read something in depth as part of your pre-trip planning or post trip reminiscence, this is a good bet. But I'd recommend a smaller, more practically based guidebook if you're travelling independently in the region to carry with you. |
