Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - not as good as the other books
This book is an ok read if you are a plum fan but i do have to say its not as great as the earlier books, Stphanies life story doesnt really go to a new level in this book

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - ANOTHER GREAT READ
I PERSONALLY LOVED THIS BOOK FROM START TO FINISH, I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT THAT SHE INTRODUCED SOME NEW CHARACTERS. IVE NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD AT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAPPEN. IF YOU A JANET EVANOVICH/STEPHANIE PLUM FAN THEN YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS BOOK. ROLL ON NEXT YEAR FOR NO.15

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - a huge disapointment
book 14 is to silly to be believable, I can usually see morelli and stephanie falling out over the daft happenings, not this time morelli has gone soft along with tank and the whole thing has lost its sizzle, lean mean thirteen was moving along with steph/morelli/ranger, "what happened"? I will still buy 15 being optomistic, the book did have some laugh out loud moments but not enough to redeem it, a whole year for this! next year I will read the reviews before laying out my money.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Grand Goofiness
If you like a little fun with your novels, Fearless Fourteen is a worthy addition to the legend of Stephanie Plum, bond enforcement agent. But the strength of the novel can be found in the fundamental love and sympathy that Stephanie feels for everyone.

The book has several major plot lines: The primary one involves people breaking into Morelli's house and digging in his yard . . . not to mention leaving behind a dead body; a secondary one involves Lula deciding she wants to get married to Tank; another secondary one has a sixty-ish singer named Brenda needing to be kept away from booze, pills, and younger men; another secondary one includes Stephanie picking up babysitting duties when a woman she takes in cannot get re-bonded. Along the way, there are significant appearances by Ranger and Grandma Mazur to keep things interesting.

The goofiness shows up right on schedule on every page. You are hit with gags so fast that sometimes you are still laughing over the last one when you hit the next one: That can be painful to the solar plexus!

The book has some weaknesses that keep it from being outstanding. Except for some occasional suggestive talk, Stephanie doesn't come close to being overwhelmed by her attraction to Ranger. Whenever Stephanie isn't on sexual tenterhooks between the two men, the stories just don't seem to work as well. I also found Morelli's fairly laid-back reactions to his life being overrun to be out of character . . . and stealing away some of the potential comic energy. There's also a lot of speculation about what Morelli did or didn't do in high school that seems neither here nor there. The story also has a plot complication involving some clues that need to be kept cold that is never adequately resolved.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - I still love Stephanie Plum!
My annual wait for the new Plum adventure ended yesterday evening, when a neighbour handed over my delivery. I persuaded the children to cook their own tea and retreated into my room. The plan being to read until I finished - which I did!

I wasn't the most hilarious episode I have ever read, and we certainly didn't move any further forward in the Morelli/Ranger world, but I still laughed out loud and fought off sleep to get to the end. I missed her not wrecking a car or two, but she got into enough scrapes; I missed some family news - like the sister with the crazy kids/husband - but there was some...

Maybe my life is so chaotic that a gentler, more familiar book was in order; maybe the fact I have a fourteen year old who spends his time on a similar game made it ring true; whatever the reason - I still love my fix of Stephanie Plum!
