Brilliantly achieves the aim. Of particular note are the transport details to get you to the walks described.

Rarely have I come across a book in which the attention to detail gives such assurance when walking in a previously unexplored area. Mr Tippett's directions are consummate, and at every step of each of the lovely walks he describes in this perfectly proportioned book, I had total confidence that I was "going the right way". Never underestimate the importance of this to the enjoyment of a walk!
Another benefit is that through the thoroughness of the author's investigations I have been introduced to many superb places - walks, viewpoints, tucked-away restaurants - well of the typical tourist trail. So idyllic are these that in this review I shall guard their names and locations jealously.
The details of the comprehensive driving tours also included in this book are exemplary, as is anciliary information, such as timetables and where to find decemt maps locally.
The Sunflower Guide to Sorrento, Amalfi Coast and Capri lifts this area as a holday destination from intetesting to beyond captivating. The book has made Sorrento for me. I recommend you don't go there without it!
