We are going to walk the inca trail later this year, and have so far found this book great, although there are only a handful of photos.If we want to know anything we turn to our little guide.So far I've looked up advice on what innoculations you need, what to watch out for with insurance,altitude sickness, what to pack,the route and maps, and i've hardly explored this little book that's as big as my hand.
There is still chapters on Route Options (including vilcamba Trail, classic trail, Mollepata trek), What to Take ( clothes, medical, internet sites,etc)Pre Departure Health Preparations, Peru facts about the country (gegraphical background, historical outline, culture, flora and fauna, visas, accomodation etc)The incas (Mastercraftsmen,Inca ... This is a superb book that contains all of the relevant material to ensure you have the best possible chance of reaching the summit of Kili. Tailored so as to be useful to experienced trekkers and those new to the pursuit, this book was invaluable on our trip. Packed with pre-departure tips and advice it ensured that we left fully prepared and aware of what awaited us. Useful information regarding each of the routes and contact details of agencies in the UK and Tanzania mean you can book in advance and do so safely. Once on the mountain the day-by-day descriptions of the routes are clear and concise and the mapping provided is excellent. what was the great war like from the perspective of the officer in the trenches, well here you have got the chance to find out for yourselves, the entries are only rough and brief but they tell an incredible story of courage and bravery, the diary includes commentry written by the author it wasn't meant to be widely published, only to be read by his family and perhaps therein lies its charm

A very slim 'read-it-in-one-sitting' novel but structured around the most important of themes.

Joe, too often (and self-defeatingly) identified as Camus' main protagonist in 'The Outsider'is a superbly realised character whose sexual confidence has literally deadly consequences.

Trochhi was once a paid pornographer and there is a vivid and beautifuly depicted scene where ... well let's just say it involves custard and some other household fluids.

The turgid opening paragraphs on the difficulty of language disqualifies this novella from five stars but there also fine insights into both personality traits and the physical landscape of canal life - that outer point of urban living.
