. Pasta: Every Way for Every Day

I brought this book primarily because my son is a finicky eater and at this moment in time he is going through a phrase where he just wants to eat pasta. Therefore, my aim was to find a cook book that would provide me with tasty recipes that were quick and easy to make. For as a working parent my time is precious and the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was spent ages in the kitchen cooking dinner.
I can safely conclude that the pasta dishes that I have made from this cookbook so far have been quick and easy and my son has loved it up! So a big thumbs up for this one.

. The Edible Mushroom Book

First of all a confession: I'm a bit of a mushroom book addict. I have a *lot* of books on mushrooming. Collecting them has been a hobby of mine for about fifteen years. Some books I get for recipes, some I get to have new identification photos, and others just for interest.
This book is aimed at the beginner, and it follows a now pretty standard format of: first some general information about mushrooms and other fungi; then a field guide; and then a section on recipes. These kinds of books are not intended to be exhaustive guides to all the heroes and villains of the fungi world; for this your best bet is Roger Phillips's seminal Mushrooms: Mushrooms

. The Classic Food of Northern Italy (Great Cooks)

No doubt recipes are good. Just what it says is different than how dishes would be cooked in Italy. It is full of exotic recipes aimed to cheat the customer already kidnapped by supermarkets, glossy magazines, celeb chefs, entarteinment tv program pretending to be cooking program. At the same time many, perhaps most, of the basic italian recipes are simply absent.
Buy it if you know nothing about italian food, are happy to continue to know nothing, and want good recipes (not italian, but good).
If you look for italian food look elsewhere.
