I bought this book on a whim as i have been interested in hatian politics for some time. I read it in 3 days. The book begins detailing the history of the first independent black republic in 1804 and then onto papa doc's early life and his rise to one of the most corrupt leaders the world has seen and how America fed papa doc millions in the hope of keeping communisim from interfering with haiti. If you want to know anything about hatian history and it's presence the only place to start is here.
