Whenever you're feeling low and in need of a boost, this book is an effective way of raising your spirits. Part-autobiography, part just musings on life, David Lynch brings this small book to life with astute, simple writing, conveying his ideas in a very optimistic way. It's a light read, feel-good and warm, quite the opposite from Lynch's films and art.

The issue that anchors the book is Lynch's focus on Transcendental Meditation. He sells it extremely well, describing its ability to expand the consciousness and one's creativity, TM itself apparently being easy and effortless to learn. This book is more than an a exhibition catalogue. It is a work of art itself. The layout and design of the book are so well concidered. Different types of artwork are printed on different qualities of paper. There are 2 CD's that contain an interview with David Lynch. It is useful to browse through the book and listen to the interview at the same time as it constantly refers to pages in the book. This gives a great insight into the mind of David Lynch. Though it has to be said the interviewer is slightly annoying because she asks obvious questions and makes blatantly obvious mistakes - you will understand what I mean when listening to it.

This is surely a book for in-depth David Lynch fans. It covers his career from the start and up to "Lost Highway", spending rather a little too much time at "Twin Peaks", along the way. Also has insights into his artistic career. Very well researched and written in a question and answer format with additional information in straight text at the beginning of each chapter.

I bought this book for some sing along fun with my young family. I'm not remotely religious, but there are some "classics" here that I enjoyed singing at school in the 1980's and I was surprised by how many I still knew well.

There are two complete edtions on offer, so I went for this the cheaper version, as I couldn't see any reason not to. When it arrived I realised it was cheaper because it is the WORDS ONLY edition - a fact which you can't quite make out from the picture (or at least I couldn't). Anyway, I now have the other edition too which has the WORDS AND MUSIC which helps if you want to play along as I did.

This is a beautifully designed book containing David Lynch's not-quite-of-this-world snowmen photographs. Lynch completists will probably want it, but at 20 pages long for £10 it's something of an indulgence. If you're looking for a more comprehensive overview of Lynch's art then the catalogue of his Paris exhibition, The Air Is on Fire, is probably a better bet.

I brought this book with a view to learning enough about creating a good cheese board to impress my friends (and my Boss!) at a dinner party I was hosting.
The book is easy to read, clear and consise, with great recommendations for wine and accompaniments to all the cheeses featured. My dinner guests were amazed at the selections I made, and were very, very pleased with the cheeses.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about Cheese, and who would appreciate an informal, unpretentious guide.
