. Climate Process and Change
by: Edward Bryant
October 28, 1997
Bryant does a great job of describing the climate history of the earth along with the processes which have driven it. His discussion includes changes at the galactic, solar system, and planetary level. Evidence and uncertainties about greenhouse warming as well as potential effects of ozone depletion and nuclear winter. The final section of the book describes health effects of climate change including: droughts and hunger; warming and increase in disease vectors; ozone depletion and skin cancer, eye injury, and impacts on plants. Ample bibliographic data is presented. This is not a populist doomsday book but a valuable survey of the scientific knowledge on the subject.

March 01, 1990
Berserker Base is not a single story, but a series of short stories about people fighting against the almost unstoppable Berserkers, with a climactic ending which any author would be proud of, and a Pace that is keeps you reading well into the wee hours of the morning.

. Phoenix Without Ashes
by: Harlan Ellison, Edward Bryant
November 15, 1978
This book is a little gem, even for the few who are lucky to be fans of Harlan Ellison already. It comes from the fresh "looser" writing days of Ellison (as if his writing isn't loose anyway!) and familiar as I am with his work, I have not come across it in reprint, which many of his works are, which is a good enough reason to make a purchase, as if the spellbinding conclusion isn't enough reason to buy this excellent original novel. Top writing, and not all sci-fi!
