I can speak from the view point of writing a sports studies dissertation and having the pleasure of meeting one of the authors (IAN) myself as he is a lecturer at my university. The book is perfect for anyone who wants a simple but through guide to writing a dissertation for sports studies. If I was to describe it in a few words:

Interesting
Thorough
Easy read
Covers all the main points

Complete Psychology is one of the best introductory textbooks into the subject. The criticism of it being overly simplistic isn't far off the mark, but fails to realise that Complete Psychology is intended to be accessible, not overly challenging or confusing - and in this light it serves its purpose well.

I'd particularly recommend it to any undergraduate students who perhaps are studying psychology having never studied it before for two reasons:
1) It follows BPS (British Psychological Society) guidelines
2) It assumes no prior knowledge and thus is a fantastic reader to get to grips with the basics.

I never lived through the anarcho-punk era, the Class War, the miners strike, occupations of universities in the 60s or anything else modern radicals hark on about. Reading Ian Bone's autobiography puts it all in some drink-fueled perspective with some insightful wit, cutting remarks and more sarcasm than an episode of Blackadder.

The book covers the life of Ian up until he packed most things in around 1986 and it's filled with his activities with his socialist parents, his discovery of anarchism after reading a copy of Punch at the dentists, student activism, Alarm and corruption in Swansea and the common factor... drink... LOTS of drink. It's an easy read (making me miss a morning's worth of lectures because I was so engrossed) ... Read More:

This is an excellent dramatisation of one of Sayers' best novels. It has a good balance of detail and drama, with a twisting plot and revelation which keeps the interest to the end. It's set in an area of south-west Scotland with a good feel for the place. The acting is good - it all comes together very well and makes one of the most listenable (probably THE most) dramatisations in the BBC Sayers series
