. Superman: Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite (Superman)
by: Jerry Ordway, Dan Jurgens, Roger Stern
October 11, 1996
How does Superman continue being a hero if he's not super anymore? well this book has all the answers. Originally published in comic book format in the late 80's this mini series was in itself quite a mile stone for the man of steel..the story itself follows a dying Lex Luthor (through Kryptonite poisoning) attempting to get his final revenge on Superman with the aid or Mr Mxyzptlk, a magical imp from the 5th dimension.Add on top of that mayhem Clarke Kent proposing to Lois Lane and what you get is a intresting read.Wrtten by the team who later brought us The Death and Return of series this book fills in a lot of the gaps (along with "They Saved Luthours Brain") for people who started reading from the The Death and Return of series. The ... . From a Wooden Canoe: Reflections on Canoeing, Camping, and Classic Equipment
by: Jerry Dennis
September 08, 2000
This is not a "how to" book. It's a charming read, full of warmth. Maybe Dennis is the Gierach of the canoeing world? It's short chapters make it perfect for bedtime reading, I drifted off with thoughts of sunsets over stillwater, slowly paddling across a small mountain lake lined with spruce. I didn't need much persuading but I had to buy a canoe after I read this. Now in my 40's and having done a bit of kayaking as a boy I was looking for, what I considered to be, a more dignified way of getting afloat. The book was recommended by Amazon probably because of all the other US outdoor reading I have previously purchased. I did not regret it. If you can't get out on the water, or even if you can, read this book.
