Found this pack really useful. It has helped me to get started on spanish and I have found the book gives interesting information about life in Spain/South American. Answers are all in the back so think this is a good pack if you want to start learning Spanish without a class.

the CDs are definately needed to go with the book, I have ripped the CDs into mp3s, so that I can transport them around in my Iriver HP140, it saves me taking the CDs with me...

only one tip, you must keep at the language to learn it, 2 hours 2 or 3 times a week, every week...and you will soon get a good grasp of it.

Spannish by Micheal Thomas is a good set of CDs too..

I have been using this book to support a Beginners Spanish course. Once you have sussed out the layout of the book, it is very easy to follow with a wide range of topics covered (introducing yourself, talking about where you live, describing your daily routing, shopping, eating out etc.) This book would suit almost anybody who has an interest in learning Spanish. If learning from home, the cassettes are a must and help by teaching you how to pronounce letters and words in Spanish. I have a couple of Spanish books and found this to be the most informative, well presented and it actually made learning Spanish fun!! Buy it, you will learn so much from the very first chapter.

Having taped conversations which relate to the subjects covered in each chapter of the book has made learning Spanish easier. The pack has enabled me to start learning Spanish on my own and to continue with the help of Spanish night classes (also using this set).
