This was rushed to tie in with the TV programme, and a sympathetic editor could have ironed out a few repetitions. But there are some great things here. It is romantic but grounded at the same time, and MPW offers an interesting perspective on the organic / waste debate. The photograph of the Wally Ladd trifle is so elegant and there are honest pictures of hunting, shooting and fishing. There is some terrific dry humour in the commentaries.

I think there is more to be written about and by MPW - he is clearly a great and complex character with many obsessions and talents. He ought to be given a fuller rein and a loyal and loving editor to get to the heart of what he really is and what he has to offer.

A must have for any keen cook, these dishes are very simple, requiring passion (a good budget) and care.
Each dish is made of 4 or 5 components and presented beautifuly. The book delves into Marcos thoughts on food, restaurants and cooking. A real insight into a man who helped develop the sills of Ramsay, Heston and others.
The photography is spectsulat, black and white. clear and simple. The book fits together very well.

The food looks a little dated by todays standards but if you cook this for a lady! or dinner pat guests they will be most impressed!

spare a thought shortly afer this book Marco went AWOL!... handing back his 3 michelin stars!... A masterpiece

A big disappointment. I loved Hells Kitchen, the TV show and bought the book, but I don't remember the recipes being as pretentious as this.

Let's face it, how many of us are going to serve up a pigs head for lunch - my lot would have a fit!

There wasn't a single recipe in this book I wanted to try - sorry.
