ok --- i just heard the piece on Woman's Hour --- this book sounds a real boon, and the recipe as on the Woman's Hour website is great. One thing though--- has anyone actually bought a copy and used the book yet? I tried looking at the reviews linked to the book and they were for James Martin's book so not exactly helpful!!!!

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has actually bought the book and tried the recipes.....

A great book that proved to be an invaluable start point for many of the topics on my Marine Biology degree. The process and systems sections were particularly helpful. The information was presented in a clear and easy to understand way and the diagrams/photos really helped with the explanations. Well worth the money.

.Walk the South Downs

A more than excellent walking guide to the South Downs. Each walk I have sampled has explored the Downs via wonderfully enjoyable and less well trodden routes. Although I know the South Downs quite well, having walked over the area for years, Martin Simons has taken me through woods I never knew where there and around brows of hills into peaceful valley bottoms that I have never walked through before. Taking different pathways, off the main drag, means that you have to sure of your turnings and each of Martin Simmons markers have been spot on so far. His useful illustrations assist routing confidence and his accuracy so far prompts me to suggest that if you don't find the gate or the way marker he mentions you've gone the wrong way.

.Model Aircraft Aerodynamics

Well this book covers two interests of mine. Firstly Aerodynamics which is a career related interest and secondly aircraft modelling which is one of my hobbies.

I was actually recommended the text whilst studying Aerodynamics at university. The aerodynamics lecturer suggested the book saying it was nice and clear, and relates with full size aircraft which we were concerned with. It couldn't have been a better recommendation. I usually tend to read factual books purely as reference, i.e. just concentrate on the areas I am concerned with. However this book is written in such a way that is easy and interesting enough to read the entire book page by page.

.Walk the Isle of Wight

Having recently moved to the Island and both being keen walkers, we searched in vain for a good walking book. Our wishes have been answered by this book, a revelation! We tried walk 27. Whitwell, Week Down and the Undercliff, what a cracking route, easy parking, good pub, all round excellent. If the rest of the walks are half as good as this we are on to a winner. Next walk 'The Long Stone'! Well done Martin Simons.

Looks good but nothing more is the best way that I would describe this book. It is very pleasant to flick through on a cold wet afternoon, just browsing . If you are wanting something of substance and more depth then this is not the book for you.
