I have had this book for a number of years and made many dishes on the basis of it. It gives a good understanding of what you can do with each vegetable that is used in Italian cooking, and also has some very good and simple recepies for maccaroni and risotto. It's not a book for making food look spectacular at dinner parties. It's much more a book that explores the taste of each vegetable either by a surprising combination with other ingredients (e.g. leek with ground coriander), or by an unusual process (e.g. boiled lettuce). In that sense it is very good to get a full understanding of the taste of each vegetable.
