.Corfu: Car Tours and Walks (Landscapes) by: Noel Rochford June 09, 2005 This book is really helpful if you like hiking and enjoy seeing some less touristy parts of the island. It gives good description of interesting hikes and scenery and the maps are helpfull. Most routes are quite long (20 km or more) and most routes are one-way routes(so you can use busses). .La Palma and El Hierro (Landscapes) by: Noel Rochford February 03, 2006 Walk 7: if your bus driver will not stop at the unofficial bus stop before the old tunnel, and mine did not, it is NOT possible to do what the book says and walk back through the tunnel to the starting point of the walk. There is an electronic dot matrix board prior to the tunnel exit and road signs at the exit that indicate: no pedestrians, no cyclists. Walk 12: "easy descent" it states.
