This book is incredibly boring, like most revision books, BUT it is aslo extremely useful for english a-level. Worth having.

Set in war-torn Northern Ireland in a hard-pressed Protestant ditrict, MacLaverty's Cal mixes the somehow predictable love affair between representatives of the two opposing sides with the tragedy of the political situation. Admittedly, some simplification in the line of the plot may well put off the trained reader; still the author succeeds in keeping outward tension going, while building up acceptably to the inevitability of making the best of both worlds.

A plus to this book is the ability to skip chapters or read from cover to cover. Each chapter has been broken down into subheadings which break up that block text. Whether you know all there is to know about TESOL or if you are someone who hasnt a clue (like myself at the time) You will after reading this book.A big thumbs up.
