.Corfu and the Ionians (Lonely Planet Regional Guides) by: Sally Webb, Carolyn Bain February 01, 2002 Having just spent a week in Corfu, I found this book inaccurate, out-of-date, and even worse, downright snobbish. For example, the restaurant reviews for Corfu town were badly researched and we found it payed to follow your instinct and explore the old town for hidden restaurants. Its description of entire the east coast as 'not worth visiting' was entirely unfair, as you are ideally placed to roam the entire island. Maps were sufficiently detailed, so no need to buy extras. My book is extremely well-thumbed. .Rome (Lonely Planet Condensed Guides) by: Sally Webb September 01, 2003 I bought this book prior to spending 4 glorious nights in Rome on my Honeymoon in 2004 a part of a two week italian excursion. I toyed with the idea of buying one all encompassing Italian Guide Book, but the smaller more specific books seemed more in depth. Not onl that, but the best thing about this book is it fits perfectly in your pocket - perfect for treking around in the heat of the day cos you don't have to lug a bag around with you. It covers all the major and minor sites, areas of interest, restaurants and much much more.
