I just got back from Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Gomera and this is a brilliant guide book - really good info on transport, acommodation and my word the restaurant reccomendations were the best Notably La Cazuela in santa Cruz and El Palmar at Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera ( in my view a much nicer place than the shanty town under construction feel of San Sebastian).Highly reccomended.

This book appears daunting on first impressions, and, as they say, first impressions are often right. Although split into clearly labelled chapters, with plenty of tables and charts, I found it hard to actually grasp any specific advice. I had hoped it would be useful for on-the-floor classroom teaching, but instead it is wrapped up in academia, using unfamiliar phrases and long, drawn out sentences. Sub headings would have split the text up and made it more manageable. If you are an education student, then this book probably is the right one for you, but if you are a practising teacher hoping for extra insight, then you must be feeling brave with a lot of spare time on your hands. This is the second lonely planet book that I have bought, the first being south East Asia which I found invaluable. The book is a little big not exactly pocket size BUT it can answers nearly everything you need to know without giving too much away so you still get the adventure. Packed full of places to see, phone numbers, where to go for emergency help. Ratings for hostels and much more

All in all this is a great book and I am looking forward to using it later this year when I go travelling Spain & France on my Motorbike.
