Certainly a must read for anyone interested in politics or philosophy. This is a cornerstone of western philosophy and deserves to be read far into the future. Relatively clear, easy to understand and a joy to read.

This Penguin Classics edition also has an excellent introduction (spanning more than 50 pages), and very useful translation notes. Each new chapter has a brief introduction explaning the main points and ideas running through the chapter. Given the price, this edition is a bargain.

when I picked up Tom Griffith's book, i knew that i wanted to take a gap year but I did not know what I wanted to do. This book is my bible to getting myself organised and most importantly for inspiring to make the most of my gap year. The style in which he writes is conversational and this is encouraging especially as I was scared about making the first step. He makes it all seem ao easy and it is!!! I cannot praise it enough. Every gap year student wanting to travel should read this book!

This book can only be described as a manual in for anyone contemplating, planning or taking a GAP year. I have found it vital, in making plans for my own GAP year, because it covers every stage of the process, from making your initial ideas right through to adjusting to life post - travel.

If you are in any doubt as to whether a year out is a good idea then take a stroll through this book; it's easy to read, excellently laid out and covers absolutely everything you need to know. It's also realistic because it's written by someone who's been there and obtained copious amounts of T -shirts.

If there's one book you buy in preparing for your GAP year it has to be this one.

Some books deserve to be reprinted when out of copyright, and this book is one of them. It is full of concise insights into the world of real criminals of the eighteenth century. It covers a wide spectrum of crimes including rioting, fraud, highway robbery, and cannibalism.

While some crimes that sent people to Newgate prison (London) would not receive such severe punishment these days, some are outrageous even by todayâ¬"s standards. The book was compelling, and at times repelling at the same time.

On the cover of this book the claim is made that it will tell you "Everything you need to know to design build and landscape the perfect pool". I am sure some trades description laws are being breached here. This book is for people who want to engage contractors to build a pool for them. If you want to build your own pool yourself this book is not for you. Lots of lovely pictures of lovely pools,but extremely short of the technical details of pool construction that I was looking for.
