I have just begun my first year studying Accounting and Finance at university and have found the subject of Financial Accounting extremely difficult. Thanks to this book I am finding my own learning and revision periods are much easier and I am now understanding concepts which I hadnt a clue about in lectures! Thank you to the authors! One tiny issue with the book is that sometimes the double entry questions and examples used are not complex enough for what is needed at my level. Apart from that I recommend this book highly!

This book is filled to the brim with 371, yes 371 individual sources/texts each with an introduction to contextualise each one. Using it for an essay or dissertation will provide you with quotes that you would not be able to find in other books as well as giving you some of the more obvious source which are great too. It is a big book at 1250 pages which was intimating at first when it dropped through the door but really quickly I discovered that its as good as having a whole library in one book which is just about portable.

This is a great book and when you start using it you will realise what a bargain it is too. Worth its weight in gold

This comprehensive book gives you ALL you need to know about the history, system, institutions, freedoms, competition regulation etc of the EU. I used it as the base for my EU solicitor transfer exam and I didn't require any other textbook. If you only want to get an overview, this book is probably too much as it is very detailed.

I bought this book a few months ago as I am starting the AAT foundation course in September. I know a bit about accounting but was clueless about book keeping. I found this book really helpful and easy to understand. It has given me a headstart for when I do start studying. And I would recommend this book to anyone who is studing for an accounting course or setting up their own small business.

.The Little Prince

Anyone who would say this book could only be enjoyed by children are utterly wrong. I'm not a child and i thought it was a beautifully written and inspiring story. It tells the tale of the little prince who wishes to explore another planet as he has always lived on his own (apart from his friend the rose). I won't go into the plot too much because to be honest it was a while ago that i read it and i wouldn't want to get it wrong, but one chapter in particular that i remember being quite touching is when the little prince talks about his friendship with a fox. The book is almost poetic, and at times i found it quite sad, but i would reccommend it to anyone, no matter what age.

I disagree with Ozzy's review, alas. Of all the textbooks I have used with (hundereds of) students, they almost unanimously consider this the best. It's far from perfect, but fills in many of the gaps left by more popular texts such as the Heinemann series (it also has far fewer mistakes and typos than the Heinemann books). The text is thorough and well spaced on the page, and the examples are generally well chosen. It might be nice to have a third colour in the text (red, perhaps, for the 2nd edition...?), but this is really a minor quibble.

I work on a 'rule of three' when teaching, meaning you generally need three textbooks for any given subject. We bounce between this and the Heinemann (which complement each other well) and then ... Read More:

A really good book, with user-friendly chapters making it ideal for use in academic research. However, once I started to read it I couldn't put it down it makes a fascinating read, and helped me to understand children's minds.

Like the previous reviewer I use this book to deliver the AQA GCSE spec to adult learners and this will be the fourth year that I have used it (and the previous edition).
What I find particularly valuable about the book is that, unlike some competitor publications, each chapter is very clearly mapped to each element of the AQA spec - my learners know exactly where they are in the spec at all times.
The book has a fresh open, clear layout without resorting overmuch to 'flashy' graphics and colour. For learners not attempting the Higher Tier (ie only aiming at Foundation Tier) it is particularly useful that the elements of the text that are exclusive to HT are clearly identified by vertical lines in the margin.
