This book has the best internet links to other sites. It has good illistrations. The thing i like about it is that is has alot of info on the page.

There's a limited amount you can do in a thousand pages and I reckon the authors have done what they can.

This is *not* for casual reading, it's hard work on a par with Knuth's tomes. It's not as all-inclusive as the latter, but it goes deeper into certain aspects.

The mathematical bits at the start are okay, and there is an excellent exposition on the big-oh notation (and its relatives) - such is difficult to find, for some reason. That alone makes it worth getting.

However, as a work of art it seemed somewhat amorphous to me (yes, even books on mathematics and computer science, even technical manuals, are works of art and can be judged as such), and when I got to the end, I found myself not caring too much ... Read More:

I think this book derserves some credit purely for being the only title soley focusing on magic mushrooms found in Britain, whereas with most other guides are focused on American speices, or species from other countries.

There is a not a huge amount of content, but enough to tantalise anybody who is interested in magic mushrooms. One of the biggest downfalls of the book is that it only has photographs of Liberty Caps. All the other speices featured in the book are illustrated with line drawings. This is a major drawback as mushrooms can be very difficult to indentify even when using photos, so without them it makes the task very hard.

like in life, good but flawed.
As a collection it is exceptional, with such a variety of some poets better work, however, the cumbersome ham-handed indexing at the begining leaves something to be desired. it is indexed in the order of poets date of birth, of course suggesting anyone who reads or has to study the books contence know the date of every single poets birth. leading of course to many fun hours of frustration trying to find a single poem by a poet in the very centre of the book.
the up side is in the back the poets are listed in rank of surname first, and as well as some basics on the poets lives there is a page reference telling you where the poets are in the book.

Whilst the content here may appear fragmented, and it is to a ludicrous extreme, this is only because this book is intended to be used alongside the Chemical Storylines book, which does detail specific topics in Chemistry and make continual references to the appropriate areas of the chemical ideas book. If followed together, they do generally make sense; but taken in isolation, it's too easy for CI to appear a mess.
Generally, there is an unfortunate degree of waffle within this book, which explains unnecessary things in sometimes exceptionally drawn-out ways. The exercises are challenging but questions are not to exam quality, existing instead only to test your knowledge of that topic in isolation, which is also a shame.
