I was 20 years old when Neil Armstrong stepped on to the Lunar susface.
I have been interested in NASA and the space program ever since.
I always wanted a single book or film that would cover the whole Apollo program from 1 to 17.This is it.You dont have to be technically minded to be captivated by this book, it is very easily readable, I was unable to put it down and I will surely read it again in the future it is that type of book.
I can not recommend it highly enough for anybody even remotely interested in the space program.

A clearly written and well illustrated account of some of the most intrepid adventures in history.Although you will have heard of most of the people involved, the most interesting parts of the book, for me, concerned people I'd never come across before. Cal Rodgers is one that springs to mind. Fearless to the point of derangement, Rodgers was the first person to fly across the USA, coast to coast, in 1911, crash landing so many times that by the time he got to California only the rudder and one of the wing-struts survived from his original aircraft. Insanity. There are many more tales like that in a book which will send you to the library or get you surfing the net for more details of some of these fascinating journeys.

One of my loves in life is aerial photography. The TV series was excellent so I had high hopes for the book. What a let down: how can the BBC put out such a poor product? The resolution and poor print quality does no justice to what could be great pictures. I suspect it was done to manage the publication costs, yet the book is not cheap. Avoid.

This is a really amazing book, and the photos are stunning. It would, though, have been better if the book was printed in landscape format with one photo on each page. In this book many of the photos are totally ruined by the fold, which effectively splits the images into two separate entities. This is especially annoying when you consider that the center of the image - the part obscured by the fold - often containes the focus point (a tree or a man). Buy this book if you must, but if you can: buy another version!

This book is the technical bible for aspiring helicopter pilots. It is essential reading for pilots studying for either a private or commercial helicopter pilot's license. It goes into more detail than any similar book, and the material is explained in a clear manner. Although the detail is more than would be required to pass a private helicopter license technical exam, the extra information presented is still useful and informative.

To sum up, if you want to to learn to fly a helicopter, read this book. The book won't just help you gain your license - one day it may save your life.

This is a child's edition of an adult's book and I would love to
own the adult version myself having bought this for my eight year old. It is such a lovely book that I gave it as a birthday present to another child and ordered a further copy for my own boys.

It features wonderful photographs taken from a height in exotic (and ordinary) locations around the world. It also features a commentary directed to children alongside each photograph and a most delightful introduction by the eight and a half year old godson of the photographer.

It really feels like a trip around the world and will surely excite and impress any child with its wonderful images.

This is a magnificent collection of aerial photographs of British football grounds. The photography is brilliant and the photographs also include the surrounding area which makes them even more interesting. It also includes useful information about each ground, capacity, largest attendance etc. This book will appeal to football fans and also to anyone who appreciates superb aerial photography.

CASTLES IN THE AIR was sitting on my bookshelf for a while before I got around to reading it - usually I am a faction girl, so this piece of non-fiction was a slight detour from my usual escapism. However, once started, I was hooked. Admittedly, the picture on the cover first drew me in, with its romance and fairytale quality - what I found when I began the book was that the picture on the cover had done the story justice.
