I have used this map for two trips around NZ, and will use it again for my third trip later this year as it is still in great condition considering the daily folding and unfolding that you inevitably do as you travel the length and breadth of this fantastic country. As it is small and lightweight it is ideal just to tuck in your suitcase or backpack no need to carry a big bulky map around.

A must for any NZ traveller, at a reasonable price.

We bought this atlas as a replacement for our 1999 AZ version. In comparison, we found it less useful for our purpose (mainly for touring). Particularly annoying is the lack of landscape information (topography, woodland) and the absence of the location of smaller settlements. On the plus side, in comparison with the AZ version, it does separately distinguish National Trust properties from others. However, we did not check out the current AZ version before buying the AA atlas, so it may also do so now. The additional information on satnav references and the location of permenant speed cameras may be useful for more gadget-minded, less law-abiding motorists.

Only that it's good, has clear mapping and lots of detailed information. It has a ring binding, which I like as this enables you to keep the book open at the desired page without damaging it. It also has a complete index of towns and villages at the back, and each of the city centre maps has its own street index - very useful. Not to mention the small scale route planning map and the map of administrative departments. What more could you need? And it's just about small enough to fit in your glove compartment. So if it seems a little heavy, unwieldy and difficult to navigate at times, well, France is a lot bigger than England.

This atlas was invaluable during my tour of New Zealand's South Island. The scale is large enough that most minor roads are marked with colour coding indicating the grade of road. This gives you a rough idea of whether or not you can drive campervan down a particular road before you get to it.
It is more accurate than a lot of the tourist board maps. One map I was given listed two Campsites with facilities for campervans in Haast. The AA Atlas correctly showed that there was only one. The other one had been granted planning permission years before but had never been built.

Verg good map, if your interrailing, this is much better than the map you get with the ticket, many more stations are listed, although if your just staying in major cities/capitols you can prob make do with the interrail suypplied map.

When you find yourself being directed towards motorways that do not exist in you book of maps then you know it is time to buy a new one! The AA Road Atlas does exactly what it says on the cover - super clear mapping. The town plans are useful too.

No excuse for ever getting lost in Spain again.

These cards are really useful for learning anatomy because they enable you to test yourself as well as allowing someone with no knowledge of antomy to test you. I would recomend them to any medical student as they are a the best thing for revising for anatomy vivas and exams.

I'm not a trucker, but I bought this atlas, and I rate it highly. The reason? The large scale, which makes it very easy to plan trips, whether for business or pleasure. Even the smallest minor road is visible, and showing the contours of the land is a nice bonus. It is also useful to know where petrol stations are: we tend to take holidays in fairly remote spots.

Okay, I am never going to need the low bridge information, but it's still the best road atlas out there.

There was not much new in this edition and I wished I had stuck with the previous version. It's misleading to call it 'new' when so much of the content is 'old'. It represented poor value in my opinion. Also, some of the walk descriptions are vague and not that easy to follow with great chunks of the routes not described at all.
